Dr. Heylel-li Biton
Heylel-li Biton is a lecturer in Accounting at the Hebrew University Business School.
Her research interests are financial reporting regulation, disclosure and international accounting. In particular, she is interested in understanding how frictions created by financial regulation impact investors, management decision-making and firms' performance. She also is interested in how the institutional environment influences regulators' decision-making, particularly in a global context.
Within the corporate world, Dr. Biton worked at Sodastream Israel as the controller, with full responsibility for budgeting, internal controls, and IFRS financial statement preparation. She also worked at KPMG Israel in the audit and professional practice departments, with experience working on IPOs in the U.S.
Dr. Biton earned her Phd in Accounting from Tel Aviv University's Coller School of Management. She holds an MS in Management from Boston University, an MBA in Financial Management from Tel Aviv University, and a BA in Accounting and Economics (Magna cum Laude) from the Hebrew University. She also holds an Israeli CPA license.
