Build and Train Models with Esteemed Instructors at Our Summer School

Our esteemed instructors will guide you through the process of constructing and training deep neural networks with various layers, illustrating the diverse tasks that can be accomplished using neural networks in different architectures. Topics covered include regression and classification tasks, clustering and visualization, and performing tasks on text, images, time series and tabular data. Of course, we will also cover the effective use of Large Language Models (LLMs) for social science research.

We invite research students and academics from social science departments and business schools to apply. Please note that basic programming knowledge in Python is a prerequisite for participation.

• Setting up environment for deep learning
• Natural Language Processing: classical algorithms, information retrieval, topic modelling, word embedding, text classification, transformers and advanced NLP tasks.
• Deep Learning: PyTorch framework, construction and training of multilayer models, including convolutional and recurrent neural networks.
• Large Language Models: Understanding their workings and maximizing their performance, integrating LLM’s in social science research.s
