We are thrilled to announce that Professor Shoham Choshen-Hillel has been honored with the 2025 Jane Beattie Scientific Recognition Award from the European Association for Decision Making!
This prestigious award, presented biennially, recognizes exceptional contributions to the field of judgment and decision-making. Prof. Choshen-Hillel been selected for this distinction in recognition of her innovative work, including her influential article – “Sex Bias in Pain Management Decisions” published in 2024 in PNAS, co-authored with her doctoral student, Ms. Mika Guzikevitz, and collaborators Dr. Tom Gordon-Hecker, Dr. Alex Gileles-Hillel, Prof. Anat Perry and others. The article reveals biases in healthcare givers' pain management decisions, whereby they prescribe less pain medication to women than to men even when their pain complaints are the same.
Warm congratulations to Prof. Choshen-Hillel!
