Top business and industry leaders at the "Decisions That Shape the Business World" conference—a collaboration between the Hebrew University Business School and the Hebrew University Faculty of Law.

Yesterday, we had the honor of hosting Rakefet Russak-Aminoach, Hila Himi Alpert, Ofer Yannay, and Rami Levy at the annual joint conference of the Business School and the Faculty of Law at the Hebrew University. Held every year, the conference aims to expose students to the people and challenges driving Israel's corporate and business landscape.

Here are some of the key takeaways and impressions shared by the students on what resonated with them most:

Rakefet Russak-Aminoach spoke about how digital transformation has unlocked unprecedented opportunities for companies to scale rapidly. She also emphasized resilience as a critical attribute required by company founders and employees alike—a quality she sees in abundance within Israeli society, particularly through her work at Team8.

Hila Himi Alpert discussed the vital importance of staying relevant to achieve career success. She noted that often, the most relevant person in the room is actually the least senior one, because they are the person who truly knows all the numbers and details. She stressed that as long as you maintain your relevance, you will always remain at the center of the action.

Rami Levy shared how he decided to open a store on the outskirts of the Jerusalem market following a visit there with his mother, during which the wholesale shops on HaShikma Street gave her poor service. He highlighted how, through the managers he chose and a bit of luck, he succeeded in building the Rami Levy Shivuk Hashikma company.

Ofer Yannay opened up about how his personal challenges, including coping with the loss of his wife and the mother of his daughter to cancer, taught him that if he could overcome that hardship, he could handle any challenge. He also spoke about his decision to return to the CEO chair, and the impact of renewable energy regulations on his company's operations.
