Sima and Shlomo Gershon - The Hebrew University’s Fintech Center was established in 2018 at the School of Business Administration on Mount Scopus by entrepreneur Professor David (Dudi) Gershon and is named after his parents, Sima and Shlomo Gershon. The goal of the Fintech Center, located within academia, is to create an ecosystem for the fintech industry in Israel, which includes startups, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and investors. The center promotes entrepreneurship, the use of advanced technologies such as machine learning and big data analytics, strategic thinking, and market penetration strategies. As an independent, non-profit entity, the center facilitates connections between startups and companies in need of technology and also runs a mentorship program for entrepreneurs, enabling them to receive guidance from experienced entrepreneurs and access to academic experts in various fields.
